Killer live album recorded live at the legendary Swedish club in 1970. Previously unreleased material with Georg Wadenius (later joined Blood Sweat & Tears) in the line up. Strong, tight jazzy hard edged progressive rock with some superb guitar, bass and drums interplay... Well worth invesigating. Freak Emporium........

Made In Sweden, a Swedish jaz rock supergroup founded by Georg "Jojje" Wadenius (guitar), Bo Häggström (bass, piano and organ) and Tommy "Slim" Borgudd (drums) ⏤ former members of the pioneering Swedish rock band Lea Riders Group, dissolved in mid-1968 ⏤, remained active between 1968 and 1977.
The band's first album, "Made In Sweden With Love", from 1968, was successful in Sweden and earned a Grammy Award nomination. The group won the Swedish Grammis as their best band in 1969 and 1970. Their live album, "Live! At The Golden Circle", 1970, was recorded on "Gyllene Cirkeln" (note: "Golden Circle "), A Stockholm jazz club familiar to the band.
Singer Tommy Körberg joined the band in 1976, appearing on their latest album, "Where Do We Begin", released the same year. At the time, Polish keyboardist Wlodek Gulgowski, bassist Pekka Pohjola and drummer Vesa Aaltonen, both Finnish, known for their previous participation in the bands Wigwam and Tasavallan Presidentti respectively....................

The "Golden Circle", a jazz club in Stockholm, was apparently the home of Made in Sweden, at least as far as the concert activity of the group was concerned. In the course of 1969 the band had a good six hours of music, of which a selection on their first and also last live LP was published in the same year. The CD reissue of the disc, with the subtitle "Extended Version", contains almost twice as many pieces as the original LP version, but the CD "Sombrero Sam" is missing.

Apparently MadeIn Sweden was a very exciting live-formation, as the energetically produced and impressively produced pieces of "Live! At the" Golden Circle "are occupied by electric guitars, bass and drums prancing and rocking extremely virtuosically through the different pieces and it (Rebop Kwaku Baah), who lived in Sweden in the early 1970s and later joined Traffic and Can, with the stylistically moving in the fields of the first Both the LPs (some of which also come from the album), a light, but very intense jazz rock with a blues impact, but the three musicians provide the individual numbers with very extravagant improvisation parts and solo sections In The Life "just as a jam-hanger for a long, varied Jam.

I can especially find the comparatively wild version of "Peter Gunn", with the almost obsessed E-guitar response from Wadenius and the cracked yodel singing, but none of the musicians will be responsible for the credits. It is also worth mentioning - just like on any of the early Made In Sweden discs - the prancing-bubbling, fast Fretless bass Häggström. A fine slice!.....by.......Achim Breiling .......................
