Gëstu de Dakar ‎"Diabar" 1981 Senegal Afro Cuban Psych

Gëstu de Dakar ‎"Diabar" 1981 Senegal Afro Cuban Psych
Group coming from Senegal, almost nothing is known about “Gëstu de Dakar”. It was formed in the late 70s and active until the middle of next decade, launching an only and rare album by Syllart.
“Diabar”, released in 1981 (although not a very precise date), consists of 8 tracks, being most short. The music is difficult to be classified, may be called Mbalax, where they mix local rhythms with western styles like psychedelia, jazz and funk, mainly. The great instrumental reflects this, with acid guitar, saxophone and metals, as well as traditional percussion like timbales and sabar. The lyrics are all in local dialects, varying some sad and happier moments along. Interesting to African music fans, listen and draw your conclusions!…by…Pérolas do Rock'n'Roll……..
