Michel Ripoche (Ex Zoo)‎ “Equinoxe” 1975 France Jazz Fusion
First solo work by ex-Zoo violinist Michel Ripoche with also ex-Magma bassist Jannick Topon bass. This is violin-driven standard jazz/fusion with no surprises and Ripoche's electric violin (rcalling JEAN LUC PONTY' s solo albums) on the front line, but the man who really shines to my ears is keyboardist Phillipe Briche (ex-EMMANUEL BOOZ) and his emphatic playing on electric piano. There are also a couple of classical-influenced tracks based on violin strings, not far from the pieces met on JEAN PIERRE ALARCEN debut, but not that good.Recommended to fans of jazz/fusion,for prog listeners this one is rather of limited ...........

Funky breaky jazz fusion by violonist Michel Ripoche, with Jannick Top on bass & Jean Schulteis on drums & percussion and Philippe Briche on Fender. Some fantastic progressive funk jazz cut like the powerful "Vimanas" between Michael Urbaniak & Cortex.............
