Widsith ‎ "Maker Of Song" 1972 US Private Dreamy Folk-Psych

Widsith ‎ "Maker Of Song" 1972 US Private Dreamy Folk-Psych

Exact repro reissue of this mega-rare 1972 rural rock masterpiece from this New Jersey duo. Early-'70s acoustic folk with rootsy CSNY-inspired backwoods jams. Some people have paid $150+ for originals of this album and some people spend entire weekends dipping their toes in the pond. Songs include "The Mighty Owl," "Dazey Me," "Rainfoot's Carnival," "Mulberry Hill," and "Singer In The Marketplace."....................

Some words on this issue: WIDSITH: “Maker Of Song” (Alithia) Fantastic US private press slide not unlike Shadrack Chameleon in atmosphere. “This two man band produced a unique item here, a folk/ folk-rock record with influences from every possible genre, finally sounding like something like and American Van Morrison or Graham Parker if he’d been reared on folk instead of soul. A couple of songs have some really effective spicy fuzz guitar, some others have a good-timey feel and some busker feel. About half have drums and some have a mild jazzy influence as well. All are well-played and sung and this is a good LP that grows on you.” (AM Acid Archives). Great LP, at times make me as soft as while listening to Shadrack or Neil Young. Just fantastic!!..
