Divlje Jagode were formed in 1977 in Sarajevo by guitarist Sead ‘Zele’ Lipovac(a (a former Biseri, Selekcija and Zenit member). The first Divlje Jagode lineup featured vocalist Anto Jankovic’, bass guitarist Nihad Jusufhodžic’ (a former Zenit member), keyboardist Mustafa 'Muc’ Ismailovski (a former Grešnici member) and drummer Adonis Dozukovic’ (a former Novi Akordi member). The band achieved high popularity with their fisrt singles: hard rock ballads 'Jedina moja’ and 'Patkica’ and a cover of Bosnian folk song 'Moj dilbere’. In 1978 they relased their debut self-titled album Divlje Jagode. Album featured a number of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath inspired songs, a new version of 'Jedina moja’ and ballad 'Krivo je more’ among others….~

Ideal leader and founder of  Divlje jagode is virtuoso on the guitar Sead Lipovača - Zele. The group was founded in late 1977 in Zagreb. The first album  ˝Divlje jagode˝was prepared in 1978, where we can find songs like “My One” and “Krivo je more”.

Unfortunately, the album did not encounter the understanding of the then Yugoton. He wanted - he was dissatisfied with Jugoton’s album promotion - moved to Sarajevo and signed a contract with the then Diskoton. There he created another album ˝Stakleni hotel" with his new album Jagod, which was a great commercial success. There are also great hits on it, such as “Autostop” and ˝Kako si topla mila˝.? The real milestone in the band’s career is their third cult album ˝Motori˝. The title song from this album is still cult and has now become the alphabet of guitar playing for many guitar rises. The album “˝Motori˝  which was filmed in the German ˝Music Park Studiju˝  under the excellent producer Tea Werdina, is now one of the rock classics.

In cooperation with the same producer, "Vatra” and ˝Čarobnjaci˝ were created. Divlje Jagode , through excellent production and quality, high-volume and well-sold trilogy “Divlje Jagode” in this period achieve incredible commercial success. In 1986, many years of Divine Strawberries’ dreams came true, and they received the offer of the famous London record label “Logo Records” and signed an exclusive contract with it. This was the first such treaty in the former Yugoslavia - no one has yet achieved such success!

Thus, Divlje Jagode  became Divlje Jagode. Big dreams have become a reality. England, London, pubs, clubs and concerts have become part of everyday life. On the tour of England they were joined by keyboardist Don Airey who played in the ensembles “Rainbow”, “Whitesnake”, “Colosseum II” and “Cosy Powell Band”. In 1986 the album “Divlje Jagode” was released. is the album “Konji”, which also features the Mozart “Turkish Marsh”, in which Zele showed all his virtuosity in playing the guitar.

In the 1990s, Zele was living in the UK and Germany, where the album “Love, When the War” not be “and” 100 centuries. “After many years, he finally returned to Zagreb, where he worked on the great return of the  Divlje Jagode, which he reactivated in 2002.

In 2003, they released the album , ˝Od neba do neba˝ which undoubtedly confirms that Zele chose the right musicians like Pero Galić, the former singer of the Opca opasnost band, drummer Thomas Balaz and bassist Dejan Orešković, later replaced by Zlatan Čehić. …..~

Divlje Jagode (Russian Strawberries) is a Yugoslav and Bosnian heavy metal band. The collective is considered the pioneer of the heavy metal genre in the former SFRY and one of the icons of rock music in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Divlje Jagode group from Bihac was established in 1977. Her debut composition looked like this: Zhele Lipovacha (guitar), Tony Jankovic (vocals), Nihad Yusufhojich (bass), Mustafa Ismayilovsky (keyboards) and Adonis Dokuchovic (drums). Starting with the release of singles, the team almost immediately attracted the listeners’ attention with ballads "Jedina Moja” and “Patkica”, as well as a cover of the Bosnian folk song “Moj Dilbere”. In 1978 Divlje Jagode threw on the Yugoslav market an album of the same name, made under the influence of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Many of the numbers on the record sounded quite rigid, but the ballad material (in particular, “Krivo Je More” and the new version of “Jedina Moja”) still enjoyed the greatest demand. After the release of the plate, several members of the ensemble went to the army, and therefore for a couple of years the matter died out.
In 1980, “Divlje Jagode” returned in the updated lineup - without a keyboard player, but with bass guitarist Alen Islamovich and drummer Nasko Budimlich. This configuration produced the album “Stakleni Hotel”, which marked the turn to heavy metal and spawned such hits as “Autostop”, “Dodirni Me, Skloni Bol” and “Potrazi Put”. The exit of the disc was accompanied by a one-hundred-dollar tour, and during those tours Jelé diligently copied the school image of Angus Young.

In 1981, Jankovic went on to make a solo career, and Divlje Jagode continued to exist in the trio format with Islamovich on vocals……~
