This is a reissue from 1975, from a talented singer & band. To my knowledge he only had to lps released, & I was glad to find them by chance on Amazon. My records were totally worn even though I take care of them. There is a lot of good singing & playing from this band in my opinion. He had a small following much like Jimmy Spheeris & his band. I am not going to go into each song because I like them all. It is better to catch a sound sample from Amazon or another web site to determine if you like his singing. For anyone who is familiar with him & like him grab this one & Midnight Mirage, the only 2 I owned. Like anything else to get a worn out lp back on cd format is just great. Gone are your scratches, skips or just worn lp. Get them from Amazon, where I usually find most of the gems I am searching for. If you like his style get both of them. Because they are both great, I am not going to review Midnight Mirage. His vocals are one of a kind, there are nice ballads, songs that move into an instrumental break & music that is just full of energy, & good musician craftsmanship. Thank You…..by……Robert Elwin Martin….~

This is a fairly new aquisition of mine. I’ve owned the second Mike Greene Band album since the 70’s but I never knew there was another one until music blogs came along. I purchased my copy thru one of the old vinyl for sale houses and received a copy in very good shape.
I’ve played this one on and off over the last couple months and find it very pleasing listening. If you’ve heard Midnight Mirage then you could call this one M.M. #2 even though it was their first album. The songs on this album are extremely well done and very musical. Each musician is obviously very familiar with their instrument and they each bring quality playing individually together to form a cohesive arrangement.
As was the case so many times back in the 70’s, this is just another quality band that got overlooked for some reason or another. I’d suggest that now you’ve got a chance to right that wrong. Take a listen to this one and Midnight Mirage and see if you can’t find a tune or two that sticks with you…..~
