Very rare album, originally released in double lp format in the late 70’s. It contains some of the finest progressive groups form the early 70’s in Andalucía (home of flamenco, in the South of Spain). So you get tracks by Smash, Gong, Nuevos Tiempos, Gualberto & Yessica… and a complete album by flamenco- psych- prog hero Gualberto, actually his third solo album. Great stuff…~

“Andalusia is the land with more roots of all that one can imagine, because it has been the most scourged by the powerful. That is why the Andalusians, we keep a very particular feeling that is evident in our way of seeing life and therefor… ~

Gualberto In the summer of 1970, he entered the studios Gema de Barcelona, leaving eleven songs that bear his signature and that of his companion who sings in "Weird wedding saug” immersed in landscapes of great beauty after Gualberto transported us to the very same Heart of India with its sitar. The album begins with the instrumental “Flying in the sky” that gives way to the acoustic theme “The birth on the spring flower” to enter “Move on blues” rock, n'roll that moves us in the middle of the fifties throughout its crudeness; “Ballad of the technicians” is a pass or an announcement of Profidén made by a disciple of Zappa. For the 30 seconds of “Guitar” they call Jimi Hendrix who takes a little walk around the studio months before delivering the spoon; “The old man is smorning” theme where it is accompanied and sung with a melodic richness to which few ears can resist, the best of the album next to the following “Were rain end rises the sun” that follows the same tonic as the previous one where it intersperses the vocal harmonies with Jessica to finish the subject making compass with the palms while the Spanish guitar makes mischief. Hindu experimentalism comes back to us with the song “Behind the star” the maximum peak of the album, song that the voices of the composer duo manage to furnish with an incredible mastery, later it would make another version with the quejíos of Lebrijano for the second LP of Smash . Another good song is “Flying in the sky” titled just like the instrumental that opens the album (?). Practically at the same time it leaves a completely different version in the second single of the Smash for the Philips with the title “Look at the raimbow” (Fying in the sky); the record closes 30 seconds of “Flamenco” flamenco guitar by bulerías. A disc with a lot of experimentation containing four or five good songs and very little production, Gualberto does not listen until in 1989 they offer it on the “Thursday” because nothing else to finish recording it went off to America without waiting for the results…..~
