From that moment in which we briefly reviewed the punk movement of the '90s in the under - and not so under - of our country with that semblance of Flema and the great Ricky Espinosa, we felt obliged to return there at some point to talk about some of the other performers who made that move ebullient, always on the go, interesting and great. Those times were full of different groups of future ephemeral life and discography that, armed with just the basic knowledge about melody (?), Took the stage to give their all for that music that is also a lifestyle. Coming from far away in the south of the city that Pappo was talking about, from the big city (?) Of Valentín Alsina, the 2 Minutes (also known as 2 ', of course) were perhaps the clearest exponent of the combination between burst, lumpenaje and punk rock. His furious songs, full of the language of the street and built only from a succession of short chords dispersed in little more than the duration that his name suggests, began to become known at the end of the '80s, from an intense pilgrimage by the scenarios here, there and everywhere.
Valentín Alsina, their first album, is a compilation of all those songs that made them popular in Buenos Aires, hence the subtitle 1988-1993. Those five years he served the led band Mosca and also integrated by Micho, ̶ tito, ̶ black, ̶ fat Cabezon Indian, Pope and Marcelo to make a name in the scene and to write some songs that still resonate in the ears of just naming them and that cemented the popularity of 2 Minutes to this day: “Ya No Sos Igual”, on that police kiosk, “Novedades”, the version of “Como Caramelo De Limón”, “Demasiado Tarde”, all these songs are contained in the intense 28 minutes -with 15 songs- by Valentín Alsina a fundamental album in the history of Argentine punk rock for its honest and citizen songs of undeniable authenticity. 2 Minutes is what you hear, a band without any artifice and eager to say many things. And here they all say them, eh....demidiscoteca....~

And that's one of their main atractives. This is a very raw and agressive streetpunk album, very OI ! in their lyrics and musical style, with incredibly well conveyed working class resentment towards the rich, the police and the state. One of the tracks is about a girl who tells the singer how his boyfriend was killed in the Falklands and the song concludes with the girl pulling a gun out to her head and commiting public suicide !!!! Even if you don't speak Spanish, you'll love the music, much in the vein of MISFITS,VIRUS,THE CASUALTIES..... JUAN MARTIN GABASTOU.....~

Wow this band is just INCREDIBLE! I can't stop listening to this record, as well as many others from this band! I've seen them live many times and live shows are even better! So full of energy, so friendly with the audience, one of my favorites bands ever! If you like punk rock you must give it a try, you won't be disappointed! I met 'mosca' (the lead singer) and the guy is just incredible! I met him before one of his shows, and the next day we were drinking beer together in a bar with some of my friends! Make sure you give it a try, you'll end up buying all their cds!....~
